The Great Outdoors

Haven’t been camping in a long while, but I am going up to Sycamore Canyon for a couple days. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve gone a day without a computer. I’m ready for some biking, surfing, and of course beer drinking.

Beers that are going with me:

  • Quilmes
  • Shiner Bock
  • Rogue Dead Guy (thanks to Andrew, Trace, and Bob for the rec)
  • Firestone Double Barrel
  • Hacker-Schorr Hefeweizen
  • and I might pick up some Tecate on the way

Wooooo, spring break 2007! Haha. Be back on Thursday.

Cheers.

Quilmes has strong under and over tones of urine. The people in Argentina drink so much of it because they do not have many other options.

I thought I was so cool recommending Dead Guy but I guess I was just jumping on the bandwagon.

@andrew: Yeah, the Quilmes lager in Argentina kinda blows. I tried some a few months ago at this restaurant Gaucho Grill, just for sentimental reasons, and the stuff they export is better. Did you try Quilmes Bock? Has a brown label instead of blue, and I don’t think they have it in the states. MUCH better than the lager.

@bob: not a bad bandwagon to jump on.

[...] think I’ve found a new favorite hefeweizen. I took a bottle up with me when I went camping a few weeks ago. Hacker-Pschorr is 5.5% alcohol by volume, it pours a cloudy honey-amber color. [...]
