I used to go there every summer for our family reunion! When I was young, there was nothing better than a day a Schlitterbahn and some tubing down the Guadalupe, and that was way before I knew the pleasure of mixing beer & floating. We used to stay at the Other Place year after year until about '92 or '93, and then the tourist crush was just too heavy, so we started mixing things up. Now I go to visit family in Galveston, and last time I went I got to check out the new Sclitterbahn. Not as good as I remember the old one, but I finally got a chance to ride their artificial wave.
